Recycling Programs

North Rosedale Park encourages recycling.  It is available on th
e Third Saturday of every month from 10 AM - 2 PM  in the Christ the King parking Lot at 16805 Pierson (enter from Pierson Street). 

 

The following CLEAN items can be recycled...

 

NEWSPAPERS: Tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags .

MAGAZINES: All magazines and catalogs.  Tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags.

BOOKS: All books (including phone books).
OFFICE PAPER: All colors. Tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags. Please no plastic.

CARDBOARD: All cardboard. Empty, clean and flatten. No milk cartons.

PLASTIC: All plastic containers except for #3.  Rinse containers and remove caps.

PLASTIC BAGS:  Plastic bags marked #1, 2, and 4.
STYROFOAM: All styrofoam material.
GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS: All glass - clear, brown, green, blue. Rinse, sort by color and remove lids.
CARTONS: All juice and milk cartons (cleaned and de-capped).

METAL: Copper, brass, aluminum foil, pie pans, tins or metal cans. Remove labels and rinse. Please separate tin cans from aluminum, copper and brass.

CELL PHONES: All cell phones - without chargers.
HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES: All batteries.

INKJET PRINTER CARTRIDGES: All cartridges.


 

Note: The City of Detroit collects household hazardous waste twice a year - in May and October.
