ABOUT US
Grandmont Rosedale Communities
comprises four of Detroit's premier neighborhoods located in
northwest Detroit:
-
North
Rosedale Park Civic Association
-
Rosedale
Park Improvement Association
-
Grandmont
Community Association
-
Grandmont
#1 Improvement Association
Neighborliness has flourished since
the 1920's when this area officially became part of Detroit.
Neighborhood Associations
Our area is rich in heritage and
community involvement. Each of the four neighborhoods has a
homeowners association that provides an organized structure for the
maintenance and improvement of the neighborhood. The Community House
located at 18445 Scarsdale is a hub of neighborhood activities and
is surrounded by its own private park.
Popular events include our own Park Players Theatre productions,
annual steak roast, Easter egg hunt,
Halloween
Haunted House, and Christmas breakfast.
Parks
We are known as a diverse community that offers a sense of place
with smaller identifiable neighborhoods. Ours is a
walkable community. Our tree-lined streets and ample open
space beckon walkers, runners and bicyclists alike. Our playgrounds
and parks are favorite spots for organized sports and young
families.
Business District
Grand River is the commercial "spine" of the neighborhood, and one
of the first five areas selected by the City for its Commercial
Strip Revitalization Program. New sidewalks, paving, lighting and
trees enhance an array of businesses that provide for the daily
shopping needs of residents.
Retail Shops and Services
We offer bakeries (four!),
hardware stores,
excellent
dry cleaners, drugstores, new restaurants,
ice cream and
coffee shops, fish markets, a UPS store, variety stores, copy
center, medical and law offices, and a full-service family-run
grocery.
Our location is ideal. The Southfield and I-96 Freeways provide
easy access to any destination in the entire metropolitan area.
